  • Meet your private guide in Piazza Repubblica at the location specified on your voucher. At this time, your official guide will convey the appointment time booked for the two hour portion of the tour in the Uffizi Gallery. The two hour walking tour is organized around this time.
  • Anna Maria Ludovica, the last grand duchess and Medici heiress passed away in 1743 and left the vast art collections of the Medici to the people of Florence - a clever way to insure these treasures remained intact as a collection and that they remained in Florence. The Uffizi is housed in a 16th century Renaissance palace that served as the administrative offices or uffizi of the Medici.
  • Your guide will provide commentary on a complete viewing of the paintings from the middle Ages through the 17th century. The gallery is conveniently grouped in periods showing how Italian art has developed.
  • During the guided walk through Florence's historic center, learn about the city's origins as a Roman city before moving onto its medieval quarter. Passing by the key monuments of Piazza Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo, the tale of the rise of the Medici family and the Renaissance is told and seen through the city's landmarks.
  • Payment Method: The tour price does not include the entrance tickets to the Uffizi Gallery. These tickets are reserved in advance. Payment in full for Uffizi tickets is required in cash Euro to the guide at the meeting point. Ticket prices range from Euro 15-20 per person, depending upon the exhibition schedule and are subject to change by the Uffizi Gallery. Cancellations at 14 days or less or insufficient payments to the guide result in the balance due for ticket purchases being charged to your credit card plus a 10% service fee.
