  • Meet Mariella at Montefollonico’s quaint café. As she leads participants to a 12th-century Romanesque church she converted into a dramatic workshop, she reveals some of the intriguing history of this romantic hill town set high above the Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia valleys.
  • At the studio filled with her own creations, meet Alina, the master's apprentice who explains the processes involved in creating and decorating ceramics.
  • Beginning with a rough object, you learn how ceramics are glazed and then decorated with tempura prior to being fired in a kiln. Before getting started, everyone enjoys a light snack of pizza, focaccia and juice.
  • Decorate your ceramic plate by using your own imagination or apply one of Mariella’s stencils. Mariella will answer your questions and help stimulate your creativity. Once your Tuscan ceramic plate is finished, Mariella fires it in her kiln.
  • All are welcome to return on Friday to pick up their masterpieces. For those who wish to stay on in Montefollonico for lunch while taking in the breathtaking views, Mariella will gladly make dining suggestions.

Mariella is also the proud owner of three charming rental homes right in the same village of Montefollonico:
  1. Casa Galante - Galante
  2. Casa Galante - Galantino
  3. Estate Nobile
